Follow the development of my new fantasy RPG, made with Pixie, at www.mattiasgustavsson.com
Hi, and welcome to the main website for Pixie - a 2D game engine for C++, created and maintained by me, Mattias Gustavsson, and available to use for free (it's public domain) for anyone who wants easy-to-use but still powerful game technology, cleanly written to be easy to extend, modify and port to any platform, with good performance and high reliability.
I've been working on Pixie for the last three years, and made several little games with it - because we all know that the best way to develop a usable engine is to actually use it for making games.
Why not give them a go? You can download them here. You could also read a little more about them, and check out some video clips from them, by checking out the Introduction - it also has a lot more detail of the work that's gone into Pixie, and what it's good at.
And perhaps the best thing is that the full source codes for all of the games are available too (from the downloads section) and they are also public domain, so they're good to you whether you want to use them to look and learn from or use as the basis for your own game. Great, huh?
There's some quite decent online documentation for Pixie at this site, and I've also started a good tutorials section, to help you get started with using Pixie. And if you still run into any problems with it, you can just drop by the forum to get some help.
I hope you will find Pixie useful, and that you will enjoy making fun games with it.
